Spring 2018 - Week 1
We have a huge number of students enrolled this quarter. Fantastic group of very talented and passionate people with diverse backgrounds and skillsets. The first week has been a lot of general admin support, as students get used to all the usernames and passwords required for various websites (Canvas, MusicTechWiki, Lynda.com etc.). Everyone is doing GREAT. All systems GO!
- Steely Dan - Gaslighting Abbie is one of my personal favorite 'GoTo' reference mixes to check kick, snare, bass and vocals.
- Engineered by the late and great Roger Nichols, it sounds perfect on ANY speakers.
- What are YOUR reference mixes?
- The more systems (speakers, headphones, rooms, cars) you listen to them on the more valuable the recording is for you.
- We got a new Lynx Aurora(n) audio interface working at my studio.
- Sounds AMAZING, and has very sexy meters.
There is no substitute for listening to a live performance of non-amplified music. Real humans playing acoustic instruments sending vibrations through the air. THIS is the baseline index for for LISTENING to music!
