Mission Statement

A not for profit corporation dedicated to advancing racial equity and economic inclusion with hands-on training, and mentorship with professional media organizations, thereby preparing disadvantaged young people for related careers in music, graphics, communication and other technological fields.

Overview

Music Tech Foundation is established to assist local populations, especially underprivileged young persons, acquire practical skills in technological fields such as digital sound engineering, graphic design, videography and others, though a hands-on program of mentoring by accomplished professionals. It will help develop young persons’ understanding and appreciation of Music, Art and Science, thus preparing them for related careers in these and other continually evolving and technologically advancing fields. In so doing, it will strive to bring about an equitable, economically supportive, culturally diverse and racially integrated society where all members of the community can thrive. In all its activities, this organization will seek to provide relief for the poor, the distressed, or the underprivileged.

This organization will carry out its mission by sponsoring community events, counseling sessions, and workshops. It will reach out to the underprivileged youth of the community, and pair them with working professionals to mentor them in real life situations. The mentors will impart their skills and knowledge to the young people, while fostering creativity and self-confidence. This organization will provide supplementary training in the use of information technologies along with any other services which are seen by the directors as useful for the attainment of its goals. It will provide state of the art tools and resources to young people and families that could not otherwise have access to them. In cases of serious need and at the sole discretion of the directors, this organization is empowered to provide direct cash grants, when such grants are seen as being necessary to avert crises in the lives of individuals, families or communities.
