2020-12-08 Canvas Grades

Canvas recently updated (changed) it's Grading system. This caused chaos with some student's grades.

NO WORRIES! Just submit your assignments and the ZERO POINTS will be changed to FULL POINTS!

Canvas made some funky changes to their Grading algorithm.

Here is how the Canvas scoring system works now ===>>>

1. If you have not submitted an assignment by the Due Date, Canvas will automatically generate a score of ZERO
   • This is actually a GOOD thing because it reminds students to get going and DO the assignment!
2. NO Worries!
   • Students have a 3 week grace period after the Due Date to submit the assignment for FULL POINTS
   • The ZERO points will be changed to FULL points AFTER submitting
3. All the assignments and quizzes in my classes can be resubmitted as many times as you want
4. Canvas Assignments will LOCK 3 weeks after the Due Date.
   • But even then we have TONS of optional Extra Credit Assignments

Deadlines for Fall Quarter 2020

1. The quarter ends this Friday Dec 11.
2. The absolute DEADLINE to submit ANY assignments in Canvas is Sat Dec 12 at 8AM.
